The CAN Project comes to Gauteng

The SAJBD has partnered with ‘Gauteng Together’ and The Angel Network to bring the CAN (Community Action Network) Project to Gauteng. As a result of the COVID-19 nationwide lockdown, there are thousands of hungry people across Gauteng in areas of need. The CAN Project is working to bring food supplies to churches, schools, children’s homes and people in need.

How does it work?

  1. Communities will choose a champion to run this project within their communal organisation.
  2. The champion will communicate the details and motivate community members to donate non-perishables or to buy food hampers from our suggested suppliers, and give these over to townships in need, as determined by The Angel Network.
  3. The champion will determine a convenient drop-off zone, and arrange transportation to the designated area in need.
  4. This is an ongoing initiative that the champion will continue to push, ensuring long-term sustenance for these needy communities.
