The South African Jewish Board of Deputies will be holding its annual Day of Remembrance Ceremony in memory of the Six Million Martyrs who perished at the hands of the Nazis during World War 2.

This year our Johannesburg and Pretoria Jewish communities will come together in unity for this important commemoration.
We will be hosting Holocaust survivor Wanda Albinska, whose remarkable story was told on the stage in the production “Nobody Told Me”. The play is a "fictionalized account" based on the real-life Holocaust memories of Wanda and explores the life of Dr Halina Rotstein (her mother) in the Warsaw Ghetto and the subsequent trauma that was hidden for decades.
Ben Wesseloo will also address us. His great-grandparents Barend and Lipjke Wesseloo saved nine Jewish children in Nazi-occupied Holland. In 1996 they were recognised by Yad Vashem as Righteous Among the Nations.
