Jewish Affairs, a prestigious journal of Jewish history, thought and culture, has been published under the auspices of the SAJBD since 1941. It regularly features scholarly articles on a wide range of topics on Jewish history, religion, thought and culture. Articles are grouped under seven broad categories, namely Jewish History – South Africa, Jewish History – General, Israel and Zionism, Antisemitism and the Holocaust, Religion, Arts and Culture, Personalities, Original Fiction and Poetry and Book Reviews. A substantial part of what it publishes concerns the history of the South African Jewish community itself. Since 2019, Jewish Affairs has appeared exclusively online (home page: https://jewishaffairs.co.za/). Subscription is free and all individual articles together with PDF versions of each full issue published since 2009 are likewise freely accessible.
