Charisse Zeifert Joins ABSA, University of Johannesburg, and Qhubeka for Bicycle Distribution Ceremony at Hanyani School
Charisse Zeifert recently attended a heartwarming event at Hanyani School, hosted in collaboration with ABSA, the University of Johannesburg, and Qhubeka. The occasion marked the distribution of bicycles to learners, aimed at improving access to education by easing their daily commute.
The South African Jewish Board of Deputies (SAJBD) has been an ongoing supporter of Hanyani School, having previously established a fully equipped learning centre and provided free Wi-Fi access for matric students. This initiative has led to a significant increase in the school’s matric pass rate, empowering learners to better prepare for their final exams.
In light of this success, the SAJBD has extended the Wi-Fi provision for an additional two years, reaffirming its commitment to educational upliftment in underserved communities.
In addition to the formal proceedings, Charisse also visited the UJ-established crèche on the school grounds, where she handed over a generous donation of puzzles, toys, books, crayons, and several boxes of age-appropriate goodies donated from King David Schools' Foundation Linksfield Nursery School on behalf of the Jewish Community. The thoughtful gifts were warmly received by the teachers and met with great excitement and joy from the children.
Together we are able to do more, spread more kindness and bring about more change to lives of our fellow South Africans. 🇿🇦📚🧸
