Meet the New SAJBD Gauteng Council

20 candidates. 15 seats. 150+ delegates. One representative community.

Last weekend, more than 150 delegates from the organisations affiliated with the SAJBD voted to elect 15 Council members from 20 nominated candidates.

Our delegate and affiliate system ensures that the election reflects the diversity of our community, with representatives from across South African Jewry having a voice in choosing its leadership. The process was overseen by National Vice President Mary Kluk, with audited results released on the night.

Congratulations to Gila Abramson, Jonti Brozin, Daniella Freinkel, Dr Sheri Hanson, Rabbi Dovid Hazdan, Ruby Ichikowitz, Zev Krengel, Sarah Levy, Shaun Mattisonn, Bethia Milner, Danny Mofowitz, Gavin Rome, Rabbi David Shaw and Monica Solomon.

The result is a Council that reflects the breadth of our community and is ready to represent its interests at an important time.

We congratulate all those elected and look forward to the work ahead in serving and strengthening our community.
