The SAJBD condemns the attack on the Holy Trinity Church

The South African Jewish Board of Deputies condemns the attack on the Holy Trinity Church in Braamfontein, and expresses its solidarity and support with the congregation and leadership, following the vandalism of their place of worship last week.

A house of worship is a sacred space, and any attack upon it is not merely an attack on a building, but on the dignity of the people who gather there and on the values of a free and compassionate society. The SAJBD reached out to Father Pollitt over the weekend to express our support to him and the Holy Trinity community in this moment of distress, offering comfort at this difficult time.

Sacred spaces must be kept safe, not only for the congregants but for the society as a whole.
