CAN Project - Loving Classroom, Rabbi Shaw and Sandton Shul

For untold thousands of children from indigent families throughout South Africa, the only proper meal they receive each day is at school, via the schools feeding scheme. What happens, though, when schools are unexpectedly shut down, as has happened because of the current lockdown?

Loving Classroom South Africa, a PBO that works to foster a healthy and safe environment in South African schools, is amongst those working to alleviate the plight of those young learners whose critical daily needs are not being met. Through the efforts of Glynne Wolman of the Angel Network and Rabbi David Shaw of the Sandton Shul, a substantial amount has now been raised enabling the organisation to donate food parcels, hand sanitizers and face masks to children of the schools they work with.

Rabbi Shaw thanks all those who responded so readily to his letter of appeal, despite having already generously responded to a previous appeal for funds to help members of the Jewish community who were struggling.

In acknowledging all those who have supported the project, Loving Classroom South Africa stressed the great merit of helping others in need: “They say blessed is the hand that gives than the one that receives and we say to everyone who made this possible may you get a million more returns” their letter of thanks to Rabbi Shaw and the Angel Network reads. .

Yasher Koach to our long-serving Gauteng Council member Rabbi Shaw and to everyone else who contributed to this outstanding initiative.

DIRCO supports terror regime once again

South Africa’s expression of concern and condolences for the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran serves once again to show their decision to always side with dictators, terror organisations and human-rights abusers. DIRCO supported the Assad regime in Syria, Muammar Gaddafi in Libya, Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir in Sudan, Sadam Hussein in Iraq, Hamas in Gaza and now Ali Hosseini Khamenei in Iran. All these dictators have a strong history of oppressing their own people and exporting terror.
